Its a....

Boy!!!

That's right we are adding to our family another little boy! We are so excited to meet this little man in march!

Changes

Well its a beautiful foggy fall morning. Crisp air outside, warm heat on the inside. Helped Darryl get a lunch packed and on his way for the day. Candles burning and the sound of my kids playing together! I am blessed.

There have been alot of changes around the Lum Household in the past month. The first change was dave and heidi moving out! we enjoyed having them here and were grateful for the time with them. We are also so excited for them and their new place, as well as stretching out a little bit again in our home! We moved Jorden up to the third floor and kept Jonathan on the second floor. I'm so glad they could share a room for a little bit, it was really awesome to see their relationship grow. They are truly buddies. Oh yes, they are still siblings and have their moments, but it is so beautiful to see their genuine love for each other too. I'm excited though for them to have their own rooms again, I think it will help their relationship grow in a new way again. I'm also excited for the individual time I will get to spend with them, as they don't have to lay down and get up at the same time for naps and bedtime.

One of the other room switches we did was our living room and dining. What was our living room is now our dining room and what was the dining room is now the living room. We love it! Our couch now faces the big bay window, which looks out at our yard and patio. I'm enjoying watching the leaves fall now and looking forward to watching it snow this winter!

Along with the changes in our house, Darryl has also changed jobs! He is no longer working construction. He is now going to be substitute teaching at McKaskey High School. This has been a step of faith for us and we have seen the Lord meet us in that! It is really quite awesome! It started really a few months ago...Darryl was thinking that maybe he wanted to get back into teaching, but well frankly it doesn't pay as much and really is just as unsure as being a self employed construction worker, UNLESS he could get a long-term sub spot. So he decided that he would at least get his status active, so that if he wanted to fill in a day here or there with teaching he would be able to. When he called to active his status, they said he would have to start from the beginning and fill out all the emergency cert. forms, and back-round checks, physicals, the whole nine yards. It was extremely disheartening, but, he persevered, and called again this time speaking to an overhead person, who said there was actually only one thing he needed to do and it was easy! The following week the sub service called and said you've been REQUESTED for a long term sub, but you need to get your status active. Darryl explained that he was already in the process and they said that was fine, they would call when they knew more details of the class. Initially we thought, maybe it would be starting that week, or the next, but they never called back about details, they did call however and say that his status was active and he could begin day to day substituting anytime. So last week, when we still hadn't heard anything Darryl decided to take another step of faith- faith that there would be classes, and that the classes wouldn't be out of hand, and that somehow we would be able to make up the difference in money- and begin day to day subbing this week. So that's what he did on monday he rose before the sun to get a class. After some frustration, but persevering, he had a gym class for the day! It was a perfect way to start back into high schoolers lives! It was a beautiful day and was able to be outside with most of classes, which were by the way well behaved. What a blessing. He was informed by other gym teachers that day that the gym teacher he was filling in for had been out a lot last year too for knee problems and that there might be an opening for a long sub spot at best and at the least, he might be able to get the class for the next couple of days. This was not the long term spot that he had been requested for. So on tuesday he again had the gym class. Last night he got online to try to get a class for today and someone had requested him for a math class for today, so he took it. What he didn't realize is that the request wasn't just for today, It is for the next two weeks and it is position they originally called him for. So as of right now, he has the class for the next two weeks! It is still unclear at the moment as to wether this will indeed turn into a long term spot or not, but either way praise the Lord for the ways he works and provides with ease. And speaking of providing- as far as the financial end of this step- I had a friend call me and ask me if I could babysit for pay a few days the next few weeks, and I also made an online Tastefully simple sale! Both ways to help contribute to our family income! Not only that I also applied a few weeks ago for a part time patient care hostess position ( serving and preparing food) at Women and babies hospital and they called on monday and I had my interview yesterday...so who knows what will come of that!

We are excited about all the changes that are happening right now. We continue to grow. We continue to learn to trust more. The Lord is good and what he does is good- Ps. 119:68

Its Fall...and I love It!

The other day the kids and I took a walk to the park. It was a perfect fall day! This is deffinately my favorite time of the year! I hadn't taken any pictures in a little while, so I thought I would take the wonderful fall day as my oppurtunity!
