Another evening getaway

Darryl and I were so blessed to have another saturday night getaway. The kids went for a sleepover at maw-maw and papa's house. So we skipped town and headed to Baltimore for the evening. Ate dinner at Phillips, walked inner harbor and sipped coffee at Barnes & Noble, before heading home! It was a late night, but with the kids away over night we got to sleep in the next morning! What a blessing and refreshment! Thanks mom and dad for offering to keep the kids and giving us a little break!

Rainbows in the Sky

Last week one afternoon the kids and I were hanging out outside when all of the sudden there was a rainbow, as I took this picture I realized it was actually a double rainbow. It was a beautiful reminder to us, that God keeps his promises! He is faithful!

Race against Racism

On Saturday it was the YWCA's 12th annual Race against Racism 5k. It was our 2nd annual involvement! Last year Darryl and I ran in the race- it was both of our first 5ks. We had a lot of fun doing that. But this year we decided to walk with some friends and push the kids in the stroller. It was a lot of fun this year too. A whole different feeling and perspective walking then running, but still a good time! The kids did great! Jorden even got out and walked some of it with us!

Fun with Flowers

This week I've been having so much fun planting flowers, potting them and hanging them! Our front and side porches are bursting with coloring! I love spring! (& flowers)

Sweet Niece

On saturday we headed to Maryland for the day and Spent time with Darryl's family. We were celebrating Mom's 50th Birthday! It was a wonderful day! We ate at olive garden and then went back to Josh & Kim's place for cake & ice cream. It was so nice to spend time together! We had fun holding Joanna!

An evening getaway

On Saturday, Darryl surprised me with a night away! It was so needed! We had a wonderful time hanging out and connecting! He arranged for the kids to stay the night with Jodi, then we ate dinner at Chile's. After I was convinced that we were just going home from there, I pleaded with him to not take me home yet! So we drove into the Urban Place just to drive around and check it out. One of darryl's friends just recently moved there. When we drove into the parking lot, we saw the Cork Factory Hotel and I had the idea that maybe they would give tours! Darryl thought it was a good idea so we went in. When we walked in Darryl walked up to the desk and said, "I have reservation for Lum." At which my mouth dropped open and I hit him saying "WHAT?" To say the least I was surprised and totally delighted! The hotel is beautiful and was just the getaway with my husband we needed!

Easter Season!

On Easter Morning, I got up with Darryl at 5:30, as he was leaving for his sunrise motorcycle service, and decided to read in Matthew the resurrection story. As I started reading, the birds outside my window started chirping and singing, it was beautiful and just brought the whole story alive to me. As I read I was just picturing Jesus just walking through the stone, b/c he overcame death he wasn't bound by human reality. For me, it was just like this feeling of, Jesus is my hero! After I was done reading I decided to head up to the 3rd floor, because we have a great view of sunrises there. Right when I got up there the sun rays broke through the clouds and it was glorious! It was pretty much exactly how I picture it happening over 2000 years ago. I felt so blessed by the LORD to have encountered him in such a special way.

On Saturday, we decided to take a quick trip to maryland to spend some time with Darryl's parents. It was a really fun day even though it was short. Darryl rode his new motorcycle there, it was his first long trip. It was fun for him to get to show his dad and mom, his new ride!

On sunday we went to my sister Jodi's house for easter dinner. It was so fun and relaxing. She lives on a small farmette. It was just absolutely beautiful!
